A lifelong resident of Unicoi, she was a daughter of the late James S. and Bessie Campbell. Mrs. Sneyd was a member of Limestone Cove Christian Church. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and travels with her husband along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Mrs. Sneyd was a loving and devoted wife and mother and a doting and adoring grandmother and great-grandmother. As a Campbell who married a Sneyd, her family roots were deeply grounded, both through birth and through marriage, in Unicoi County as the family names have been a part of the Limestone Cove community for generations. In recent years, Mrs. Sneyd battled cancer and, most recently, a stroke, but through it all she remained the sweet, kind and cheerful lady loved and adored by so many. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sneyd was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny Campbell, Frank Campbell and Ray Allen Campbell, who died in infancy; and one sister, Lucy Campbell. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Pleasey Sneyd; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Trula Sneyd and Lee and Linda Sneyd, all of Unicoi; two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Amos Stevens, Hampton, and Geraldine and Gerald Love, Unicoi; nine grandchildren, Debbie Jones, Donna White, David Cutler, Dennis Cutler, Linda Simmons and Joe Sneyd, all of Unicoi, Amanda Sneyd, Franklin, Bryan Stevens, Hampton, and Mark Stevens, Erwin; five great- grandchildren, Raysha Harris, Jacob Cutler, Dylan Hooven, Karen Cutler and LeAnna Cutler, all of Unicoi; three sisters, Minnie Hixson, Johnson City, Mary Hicks, Telford, and Edith Moore, Unicoi; four brothers, Coy Campbell, Exmore, Va., David Campbell, Johnson City, Ralph Campbell, Erwin, and Harvey Campbell, Mountain Home; and special family members, Jimmy and Cora Sue Campbell, Exmore, Va. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Sneyd will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, May 20, in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Pastor Ted Masters, the Rev. Dallas Gregg and the Rev. Charles Lee Johnson officiating. Music will be provided by Stephanie Rice and Karen Cutler. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service in the chapel. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 21, at Sneyd Family Cemetery, Sneyd Lane, Limestone Cove, Unicoi. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Active pallbearers will be Amos Stevens, Gerald Love, Mack Sneyd, Alvin Moffitt, Clarence Green, Jimmy Campbell, David Thometz, Larry Berry and Norman White. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Sneyd's grandchildren and great- grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society through two organizations raising money for the Unicoi County Relay for Life: The Erwin Record and the Unicoi County Health Department. Donations, specifically designated in memory of Mrs. Sneyd, can be sent to either The Erwin Record, Attention: Mark Stevens, P.O. Box 700, Erwin, TN 37650 or the Unicoi County Health Department, Attention: Trula Sneyd, 101 Okolona Drive, Erwin, TN 37650.
