Simms BLUFF CITY -- Mr. Roy Edward Simms, 82, went to be with the Lord Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Wesburn, Tenn., and had lived in this area for the past 12 years. He was the son of the late Richard and Bessie Slover Simms. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from Union Carbide and the coal mines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Millard Simms, Bill Simms, Charles Simms, Everett Simms Sr. and Theodore Simms; and one sister, Onedia Simms Greenwood. He is survived by his wife, Norma Marie Cinciarelli Simms of the home; one daughter, Kathleen Simms of Bluff City; five sons, Daniel Simms of Platka, Fla., Donald Simms of Pittsburgh, and Bill Simms, Roy Simms Jr. and Charles Simms; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Private services will be held in LaFollette, Tenn. Serving the family of Mr. Roy Edward Simms is Snyder's Funeral Home, 239-5671.
