Godsey Grace Darrell Meade Godsey, 83, of Bristol Tennessee, passed away at 7:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at the Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center. Born in Hansonville, Va., on Nov. 4, 1919, a daughter of the late W.O. and Grace Chafin Meade, she has resided in this area her entire life. Mrs. Godsey was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and sister. Mrs. Godsey was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Meade, in 1994; and one sister, Peggy Meade Roof in 1999. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Ivan I. Godsey of the home; one son, Richard Godsey and wife, Patricia of Knoxville; two sisters, Joanna Cross of Bristol Virginia, and Nita Hagler of Bristol Tennessee; nephews, Jackie Meade, John Meade, Phillip Hagler, Bill Cross and Jerry Cross; and nieces, Gail Ligon and Sharon Shelton. Committal services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Glenwood Cemetery. Niles E. Kitzmiller will officiate. Interment will be in Shelby Hills Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrel Shelton, Jerry Cross, Phillip Hagler, Johnny Meade, Jackie Meade, Edward Roof, Bill Cross and Mike Semones.
