December 14, 1933 This is an exact copy of a family record taken from a Bible in the possession of Mrs. Charles N. Pelfrey, 1707 Ocoee Street, Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Bible was printed in Edinburgh by Mark and Charles Kerr, 1792. It consists of three entries. The first entry is on the front flyleaf and states: Sterling Talley His Book 5th of May 1796 The second entry is on the back of the front flyleaf and states: Isaac E. Fitch and Mary R.A. Talley were married March 11th 1832 The third and last entry is on the back of the New Testament title page and states: Martha Talley Wife of Sterling Talley was born the 12th day of December AD 1766 the daughter of John Ellis of Warren County North Carolina and Mary His Wife the daughter of Josiah Barker of Surry County Virginia. She was married to Sterling Talley the 17th day of March AD 1786 and lived happily until she departed this life on the 19th day of January 1809 having given life to a daughter Mary Rebecca Ann Talley born the same day.
