A. Daniel was born on Roans Creek in Perry County, TN on Aug. 10, 1877 to the parents of James S. and Elizabeth O'Guin Parker Daniel. W. A.'s mother died when he was three months old and his father died when he was 11 yrs old. He was mainly raised by his sister Mary Ellen Daniel who married Henry O'Guin until he was 15 yrs of age. At this time he went seeking a job and fell ill outside of a store in Lyles, TN and sat under a tree hoping to feel better. Two men, James R. Haskins and Lewis Bandy came out of the store and saw him there and were very concerned about him. James Haskins carried him home and kept him until he was well. W. A. then began working for James and for Lewis on Crooked Creek on the farm until he was eighteen. He then married James' daughter Margaret Ann Haskins in 1895. They had six children born to them, Luther Smith Daniel, born in 1897 and died in 1972, Roger Moore Daniel born in 1899 and died in 1902, Ollie Gertrude Daniel born 1901 and died in 1903, Ewell Lester Daniel born in 1902 and died in 1974, Jefferson Clay Daniel born in 1905 and died in 1973, and Van Buren Daniel born in 1908 and died in 1986. W. A.'s wife Maggie died somewhere around 1922-1924, and W. A. then married Maggie Isabel Riley on Feb. 1924. They had one child Maynard Allen Daniel who died in infancy in the year of 1925. W. A. then moved to Mississippi and lived for a while and then returned to Perry County and stayed for about a year or two and then moved to Davidson County, Nashville, TN where he died on Jan. 21, 1952. His son Van Buren made regular visits with family and friends in Perry County until his death and Van Burens son William Buren Daniel and his grandchildren are now residents of Perry County, in which they have fond memories of visits here with their grandfather when they were younger.
