Rains to George W. Graves We Isaac W. Rains Sarah J Rains and John G. Houston have this day Bargained and Sold and do hereby Transfer and Convey unto George W. Graves his heirs and assigns forever for the consideration of Eight hundred dollars in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged to a Tract or piece of Land in Decatur County State of Tennessee as follows: one Tract Beginning at a Mulberry 45 poles East of the north East corner of 20 acres in the name of Solomon Carter runs thence north 136 poles to a spanish oak thence west 25 poles to a Stake thence north 62 poles to a Stake thence west 179 poles to a Stake the South west corner of Burrell Liles corner thence South 42 poles to a Small white oak the conditional corner made between Richard Graham and Jonathan Lasiter on a small branch thence down the Branch with its meanderings of Said Branch 273 poles to the Beginning. To have and to hold to the Said Tracts of land to the Said George W. Graves his heirs and assigns forever and we covenant and agree to and with the Said George W. Graves that we are lawfully Seized and possessed of Said Land and have a good right to convey it and that the Same is unencumbered we further covenant and agree and bind our Selves heirs and Representatives to Warrant and forever defend the Title to the Said land to the Said George W. Graves his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whosoever. Witness our hands and Seals this 20 day of February 1875 I.W. Rains (Seal) J.G. Houston (Seal) S.J. Houston the bargainers with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that they executed the foregoing deed for the purposes therein contained on the day it bears date and S.J. Rains wife of the Said Isaac W. Rains having appeared before me privately and apart from her husband acknowledged the Execution of the within deed to have been made by her freely voluntarily and understandingly without compultion or constraint from her Said husband and for the purposes therein contained on the day it bears date.
