CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - William M. Pierce, 15 Apr 1936 ----¤¤¤---- Obituary appeared in the Wednesday April 15, 1936 Elizabethton Star W.M. Pierce, 84, died this morning at 4 o'clock at his home near Carter after a long illness. He was a life member of the Baptist Church in Carter. Survivors are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Spergin Collins of Watauga, and Miss Ellen Pierce, four sons Sex Pierce of Basten, Va., Dan Pierce of Watauga, Alf Pierce of Carter and Ruben Pierce of Carter; one brother, Rogan Pierce and one sister, Mrs. Lottie Lowe of Carter. Funeral services and interment will be conducted from the Blevins Cemetery at Carter, Thursday Morning at ten o'clock with the Rev. Clarence Howington and Rev. Charlie Elkins officiation. Active pallbearers will be George Peters, Robe Peters, Wade Renfro, Charlie Range, Will Colbaugh, Bill Cole. Flower bearers will be Mrs. Charlie Range, Miss Nina Pierce, Miss Alice Renfro, Monta Cole, Ina Cole, Liza Range, Buriel Peters and Mamie Davis. (William M. Pierce was the son of Sion Arthur Pierce c1795-? and Sarah King died in april 1860.
