CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - T.N. Peters, 19 May 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Obituary appeared in the Sunday, May 20, 1939 Elizabethton Star T.N. Peters, 74, died at his home at Carter early Saturday morning after an illness of several months. Mr. Peters was very prominent in this section, having been a member of the county court of 18 years. He was a member of the Dashiel Lodge, Masonic Order, of Elizabethton. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Martha Peters; three daughters, Mrs. Rosa Peters, Mrs. Nancy Colbaugh, Mrs. R.D. Grindstaff; three sons, John W. Peters, Robert H. Peters, and W.B. Peters all of Carter; one sister, Mrs. Martha Garland of Johnson City; four brothers, Dan, Alfred, Wiley and John Peters of Carter. forty-two grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Liberty church, with the Rev. C.Y. Elkins in charge. Burial will be in the Blevins cemetery. The Masonic lodge will have charge of services at the grave. The body was removed from the Roy Hathaway funeral home to the home yesterday afternoon.
