Miss Nidiffer was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late J. N. and Amelia Crowe Nidiffer. She was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Miss Nidiffer formerly worked at the Bemberg Cooperation and the Elizabethton Steam Laundry. She a a member of the Old Hunter Baptist Church. Survivors include other nieces and nephews including JoAnn "Peanut" and her husband, Jack Perkins, Link Nidiffer and his wife, Carolyn Nidiffer, Jay Nidiffer and his wife, Katie Nidiffer, all of Elizabethton; several other nieces and nephews; and a special great-niece and nephew, Katrina and Toby Nidiffer. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. NIDIFFER -- Funeral services for Miss Kate Nidiffer, 99, 167 Sunrise Drive, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at Hunter United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe Manis officiating. Bobby Miller, Katrina Nidiffer and Carolyn Nidiffer will provide the music. Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 6, in the Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the church at 7:50 p.m. Thursday and also at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday, will be Lawrence Ritchie, Hugh Buckles, John Kemp, Dan Holder, Bill Cline, Smith Nidiffer, Hunter Estep and Troy Blevins. Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Crowe, Deacon Bowers, Darold Bowers, Andy Edwards and Dr. Daniel Paul. A Special "Thank You" to the Housecall Hospice. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hunter United Methodist Church. Friends may also call at the residence of her niece, Kathryn and Earl Collins, 167 Sunrise Drive, Elizabethton. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
