Quillen VA Medical Center Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Nave was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Ora and Sally Buckles Nave. He was also preceded in death by a son, Christopher Nave, a brother, Ray Nave, and a sister, Ailene Stamey. Mr. Nave was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation and a member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Nave, of the home; three daughters and a son-in-law, Cathy and Danny McGinnis, Elizabethton, Cynthia Taylor, Johnson City, and Marsha Greenwell, Elizabethton; five grandchildren, Brent Taylor, Montgomery, Ala., Adam Taylor, Alison Greenwell, Joseph Greenwell and Karie McGinnis Cobb, all of Elizabethton; three great- grandchildren, Ally Taylor, Jackson Taylor and Christopher Cobb, all of Elizabethton; a brother, Snyder Nave, Elizabethton; and three sisters, Phyllis Gouge, Johnson City, Juanita Fair and Ruth Wilson, both of Elizabethton. Robert English officiating. Music will be under the direction of Karen Elliott. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Wilson Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post #2166. Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Cable, Joseph Greenwell, Theron Johnson, John Oxendine, Ken Pierce, Adam Taylor, Brent Taylor, Jarred "Rusty" Taylor and Joy Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Taylor, Bob Steffen, Melvin Livingston, Clyde Hodge, Arlin Hopson, Conway Wilson, Kyle Gouge, Gary Eggers, Sam Greenwell, Cecil Peeks, Robert Frazier, Charles "Bo" Taylor, Elbert Campbell and Terry Smith. A special "Thank You" to the staff of Hillview Health Center, Adventa Hospice and the staff of Ward C-1 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center Hospital. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home. Friends may also call at the residence, 237 Muddy Branch Road, Elizabethton, at any time.
