CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Edith L. McKinney, 2 Mar 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Edith L. McKinney Edith L. McKinney, 81, formerly of Route 1, Roan Mountain, died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. Ms. McKinney was a native of Roan Mountain and the daughter of the late McKinley and Rosie Brown Jarrett. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Jarrett. Ms. McKinney was a member of Burbank Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include two sisters, Carrie Gardner and Dorothy Roberts, both of Roan Mountain, and six brothers, the Rev. Norman Jarrett, Herman Jarrett, R.E. Jarrett and V.L. Jarrett, all of Roan Mountain, Reece Jarrett, Kingsport, and Joe Jarrett, Roan Mountain. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Rex Johnson and the Rev. Randy English officiating. Music will be under the direction of Gail English. Interment will follow the funeral service at McKinley Jarrett Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Paul McKinney, Lynn Laws, Shawn Jarrett, Tim Jarrett, Joe Winters, Ronnie Jarrett, Jack Barnett, Tommy Jarrett, Danny Winters, Kenneth Jarrett, Elmer Jarrett and Ray Vance.
