Mr. Largent was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Frank and Rhoda Smith Largent. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Louise Honeycutt, and by two brothers and three sisters. Mr. Largent was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was of the Free Will Baptist Faith. Survivors include his wife, Mary Julian Largent, Roan Highlands Nursing Center, Roan Mountain; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharlene and Tommy Roberson, Roan Mountain; five sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Eva Julian, Eddie and Joyce Largent, all of Roan Mountain, Earnest and Vera Largent, Clarence and Janet Largent, all of Hampton, and Lawrence and Ann Largent, Johnson City; a son-in-law, Earl Honeycutt, Johnson City; three brothers, Robert Largent and Buddy Taylor, both of Johnson City, and Ronnie Taylor, Elizabethton; and six sisters, Maude Russell and Shirley Deloach, both of Elizabethton, Bertha Campbell, Morganton, N.C., Elsie Peters, of Florida, Georgia Culler and Grace McKinney, both of Hampton. Fifteen grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. These services entrusted to Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Hathaway-Percy LARGENT -- Funeral services for Oscar Largent, 88, 323 Bear Cage Road, Roan Mountain, who died Friday, March 16, 2001, will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, with the Rev. Gary Whitehead officiating. Music will be by Vivian Koster, soloist. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 19, in the Largent Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and friends. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Monday for the graveside service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. Friends may also call at the residence of his daughter, Sharlene Roberson, 327 Bear Cage Road, Roan Mountain, or at the homes of the other children at any time.
