CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Gladys G. Kyte, 9 Jan 2004

Gladys G. Kyte, 90, Hermitage Health Center, Elizabethton, died 
Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of 
Heaton, N.C., she was a daughter of the late John and Sarah Elizabeth 
Richardson Greer. She was a graduate of Cranberry High School, Elk 
Park, N.C. Mrs. Kyte had lived in Elizabethton for the past 68 years. 
She was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation. Mrs. 
Kyte was a member of the Heaton Christian Church and was preceded in 
death by several sisters and one brother. 
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jeanette and 
C.J. Hyatt, Bluff City, Linda Gay and Clyde Croy and Denise Heaton, 
all of Elizabethton; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Clay and 
Margaret Kyte, Richard and Margaret Kyte and Kenneth Kyte, all of 
Elizabethton; one sister, Pauline Lawrence, Elizabethton; three 
half-sisters, Hazel Hall, China Petery and Faye McGuire, all of 
Elizabethton; 12 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren, four great-
great grandchildren. 
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday in Memorial 
Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Joe Sorah officiating. Graveside service 
and interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, in the Heaton 
Cemetery, Elk Park, N.C. Active Pallbearers will be grandsons. 
Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren and great-great 
grandchildren. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" 
to the staff of Hermitage Health Center and the staff of the emergency 
room, Sycamore Shoals Hospital. The family will receive friends from 
6-8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the 
residence of a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Gay and Clyde Croy, 168 
Rosewood Circle, Elizabethton. Family and friends will assemble at the 
funeral home at 10 a.m. Monday to go to the cemetery. Condolences may
