Hodges 1/07/00 Josephine Williams Hodges, 98, formerly of 124 Mayflower Road, Johnson City, died Wednesday, January 5, 2000, at Hermitage Health Center, Elizabethton, after a brief illness. Mrs. Hodges was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Abraham B. and Loretta Frazier Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Conley L. Hodges, in 1977, a son, five brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Hodges had lived in Washington County for 70 years. She had been a homemaker and was a Charter Member of the Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Euretha H. Anderson and Velma H. Rowe, both of Johnson City, and three sisters, Flossie Williams, Violet Branch and Georgia Lewis, all of Elizabethton. Seven grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Morris-Baker Funeral Home, 2001 Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, (423) 282-1521, is in charge of arrangements. HODGES -- Graveside services for Josephine Williams Hodges, 98, formerly of 124 Mayflower Road, Johnson City, who passed away Wednesday, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Monte Vista Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time to leave for the cemetery approximately 1:45 p.m. in the North Chapel of Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The services will be conducted by Rev. Mark Turner and Rev. Lennie Smith. The family would like to extend their greatest appreciation for the staff and management of Hermitage Health Center. Pallbearers will be Tony Anderson, Steve Anderson, Philip Rowe, Larry Hodges, Dan Rutledge and Kenneth Williams.
