CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Doris Anderson Grindstaff, 30 Sep 2003 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Doris A. Grindstaff Doris Anderson Grindstaff, 74, Laura Bowers Road, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, September 30, 2003, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Grindstaff was a native of Carter County and a daughter of Susie Bowers Anderson, Elizabethton, and the late Alfred Anderson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James B. Grindstaff, and a daughter, Kathleen Grindstaff. Mrs. Grindstaff was a homemaker and a member of Blue Springs Christian Church. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include three sons, Albert Grindstaff, Independence, Mo., Larry Grindstaff, Lenoir, N.C., and Gerald Grindstaff, of the home; two brothers, Dallas Anderson and Carl Anderson, both of Elizabethton; and a sister, Mary Alice Anderson, Elizabethton. Three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, October 2, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Mr. Richard Thomason, minister, officiating. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, October 3, at Pearl Bowers Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Landon Grindstaff, Carrell Grindstaff, Willard Bowers, Fane Bowers, Shirell Bowers and Wesley Grindstaff. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Friends may also call at the residence of her mother, Susie Bowers Anderson, 810 N.
