Billy J. Glass 





    Billy Jack Glass, 79, 500 Sabine Street, Elizabethton, passed away 

Thursday, January 26, 2006, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief 

illness. 





    Mr. Glass was a native and lifelong resident of Carter County and was a 

member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a fireman for the City of Elizabethton 

and retired following 17 years of service. He had previously worked for 

Bemberg. He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Elizabethton, and was also a U.S. 

Army veteran, having served in World War II. 





    Mr. Glass was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Perkins Glass, two 

brothers, Charles and Dan Glass, and a sister, Bill Smith. 





    Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Billie Glass, 

Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Ming Kwan, T.J. Glass and Katie Glass; and 

two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Ella Glass. Several nieces and nephews 

also survive. 





    Funeral services for Mr. Glass will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 

29, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Sorah 

officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mrs. Trilla Little, organist. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 3 p.m. Sunday, 

prior to the service. Graveside services and interment will follow the service 

on Sunday at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected 

from family and friends. Online condolences may be sent to the Glass family
