Crowe Mrs. Geneva A. Crowe, 77, 157 Lovers Lane, Elizabethton, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Crowe was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Elbert Sr. and Katie Bowling Hodge. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Crowe, in 1953, a sister, Virginia Collins, and a brother, Fred Carter. Mrs. Crowe was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation with 30 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a son, John Crowe Jr., Elizabethton; three daughters, Rebecca Solomon, Chattanooga, Sally Austin, Elizabethton, and Vivian Gallahar, Adkins, Ark.; a brother, Elbert Hodge Jr., Elizabethton; and two sisters, Ann Shatley, Oak Ridge, and Barbara Bradshaw, Johnson City. Nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a special nephew, Bill Carter, Elizabethton, and several other nephews and nieces also survive. Crowe, 77, 157 Lovers Lane, Elizabethton, who died Thursday, June 7, 2001, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Mike Lilley, Johnny Crowe III, Louie Greene, Dallas Campbell, Ernie Morrell, Bill Carter and Bobby Glass.
