He was of German descent, and died in New York, December 7, 1927. Estelle Mayer was also a native of New York, born September 13, 1863. She is of German and American ancestry, and was formerly active in the social, civic and educational life of Lincoln. She now resides in New York City. Mrs. Arnstein was graduated from Lincoln High School in 1910, and received her A. B. from Wellesley College in Massachusetts in 1914. She is a member of Omaha College Club, Wellesley Club and of Mu Sigma, and the National Council of Jewish Women. She was married to Herbert Arnstein in 1915. They have three children, Margery, born August 13, 1917; Charles, born October 1, 1922, and Barbara, born December 30, 1924. She is Jewish and a member of Temple Israel. During the World War she was a civilian relief worker, and is now active in the Jewish Women’s Welfare Federation, the Community Chest and the Red Cross. She is independent in politics, and is a member of the Nebraska League of Women Voters. She is president of the Omaha section of the National Council of Jewish Women (1930-32), a member of the Omaha Symphony women's committee, the Parent Teachers Association, the American Association of University Women, and the Nebraskana Society. During 1927-29 she was president of the Wellesley Club. Her sports are golf and hiking and her chief recreation is reading. Her clubs are the Omaha Athletic Club and Highland Country Club.
