We have heretofore presented in these columns tables showing the wonderful increase of business done in our post office, and unless our readers may think that was a special boom it needs to be said that the work and business done is steadily on the increase. The present quarter is the greatest in the history of the office, and the Postmaster Wilson will have to turn into the department for this quarter, after taking out his salary, over $1,200. The Chadron office is the most wonderful fourth class office in America. A certified statement of the weight of mails handled here, made by James E. White, superintendent sixth division, Chicago, weights being on government scales, shows the following weights for the month of April; Sent out from Chadron p.o. 19,499 pounds. Received at Chadron p.o. 15,568 pounds.
