He had been in failing health for several years and his demise was not unexpected. Mr Hamilton was born at Hollidaysburg, Pa. November 7, 1833. He was married on June 10, 1867, to Mary Laplsley. To this union nine children were born, six of whom, with the widow, survive him. At the outbreak of the civil war Mr Hamilton enlisted in Company F, 42nd regiment Pennsylvania volunteers, and served throughout the war. He was a member of the G A R post of South Sioux City. Mr Hamilton moved to Dakota City from Pennsylvania thirty four years ago, and has made this community his home during these years. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the residence, conducted by Rev S. L. Keller, Lutheran pastor. Interment was in the Dakota City cemetery. Joseph F.
