Brummels (PHOTO) COLERIDGE - Gaylen G. Brummels, 54, Hartington, died Oct. 19, 2001, at his residence. Wintz Funeral Home, Coleridge, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial services were Oct. 22 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Coleridge, with Rev. Norman Sulaica officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Ron Burbach, Randy Jansen, Norman Vogle, Ron Wacker, Earl Hansen, Roger Brodersen, Robert Anderson, Robert Morgan and Lorton Burton. Gaylen was born Oct. 27, 1946, to Gilbert E. and Lois F. (Colter) Brummels, Norfolk. He married Gloria Sohler April 6, 1968, in Laurel. He grew up in the Coleridge area and farmed northwest of Coleridge for 34 years. He graduated from Coleridge Community High School in 1964. Gaylen was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, Randolph. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Coleridge. Survivors include his wife, Gloria, Hartington; five children and spouses, Brenda and Joel Tyndall, Walthill; Patricia Brummels, Menno S.D.; Carol and Dennis Stewart, Tyndall, S.D.; John and Jessica Brummels, Hartington; Melissa Kay Brummels, Hartington; two grandchildren: Courtney Stewart, Tyndall, S.D., and Katie Stewart, Tyndall, S.D.; parents, Gilbert and Lois Brummels, Coleridge; two sisters and husbands, Judy and Ron Nelson, Coleridge, and Joani and Jim Potts, Hartington; three brothers and wives, Robert and Kathy Brummels, Coleridge; Dwight and Gloria Brummels, Randolph, and Kent and Debbie Brummels, Hartington.
